There will be a DIY amp shootout at CAF this year. Rules are available here: http://www.dcaudiodiy.com/images/Final.CAF.2014.Amplifier.Contest.Rules-1.pdf Contest entry form is available here: http://www.dcaudiodiy.com/images/Final.CAF.DIY.Amp.Contest.Entry.Form-1.pdf
Basic summary of the rules: Build a stereo amp that weighs <70lbs and is less than 20"x20"x20".
You don't need to build an amp specifically for this contest, you can bring what you already have. Kits are allowed/encouraged.
Good luck!

If you're planning to participate, please let me know via PM so we can have an idea how many entries to be prepared for.

Hi Roscoe, I read the rules and have a question with regards to "single chassis". Is separate power supply in one box and amplifier/s in second box, if these are tied somehow together, forming one unit, acceptable? How about two monoblocks, are those not allowed?

I would need to be on a single physical unit. An "external" power supply that was mechanically attached to the amp would count, separated with an umbilical wouldn't cut it, neither would monoblocks.
It's now a moot point, see the next post....

Cancelled due to apparent lack of interest.
Stay tuned, this may get resurrected for 2015.
