I am completed frustrated with trying to get my lcd to display its "native" resolution 800x480. It is counter-intuitive to me that and lcd refuses to display at it's native resolution. You would think that would be the default setting. First off I am using powerstrip and I have tried with a geforce 7800GT (which supports 800x480 out the box) and a radeon 9000 pro (which does not support 800x480 even using powerstrip).
Regardless of the settings I try for refresh rates, custom timings and custom resolution, the lcd converts the image either to 640x480 or 800x600 (this is what the OSD shows as the resolution). At this point I am starting to believe that the documention on this lcd is full of crap especially since it will not display anything higher than 848x480 (1280x720 displays, but horribly distorted). And, the only resolution that does not have lot of noise on the screen is 800x600. I would actually be satisfied with 848x480, but the noise is too distracting.
I attempted to use the settings posted on the xenarc webpage for their 7" VGA screen, but again the lcd converted the image to 640x480.
Has anyone out there got this lcd to display 800x480?

using the following timings, I was able to get it to accept 800x480 but this time it converted to 800x600 instead of 640x480 and the picture is nice and clear. Since it's displaying 800x600, the screen is letterboxed. Still not there.
