Can you help me to identify these speakers?

They are 8 inches in size and most likely be a Philips because the box has a badge on the back. I can't find a way to safely remove them and check the back of the speakers to read the letters.

Is anyone familiar with these?

I am trying to get them sound somewhat acceptable, so far i have failed with all my amplifiers.

If you mean the driver, it's the Philips AD80800/M8, an 8" fullrange driver from the 1970's. I got some specs on them but as this is an old driver, don't trust them too much as the aging often changes them...

well they aren't mine but it would not bother me to sacrifice that cheap mdf box which is likely why they don't sound good.


if the back is perforated hard board why not sacrifice it?

They seem pretty good in condition, nothing visible. It just that they sound so muddy and darkish... I love dark sounding but this is way too muddy and darkish! maybe I should get an EQ and EQ them to my liking.
