Is this a 60ix?
You need to clean the board top and bottom with acetone and a toothbrush so you can better see the extent of the damage.

Holy.. what would cause such extensive damage to the input section? Did someone 'wall socket' it or something?
These are from a 40x2.

According to a friend who was watching the auction, they allowed 12v to contact the RCA jacks (<< second hand information).

One more thing. Do you happen to have a Punch 55.2? Maybe i can locate these parts and try to repair it. And is it hard to install the small surface mount pieces? Like, resistors, ICs, caps?? Thanks again Perry Babin for the help!
There may be no defective components (except possibly the diode that connects the RCA shield to the chassis ground - D7, behind the treble pot in the 40x2). You may only need to cut out the carbonized fiberglass and jump the traces on the bottom.
I don't have a 55.2. I borrowed the 40x2 from a friend.
It's not difficult to replace the SMD parts.
Are you asking where to get acetone? Any hardware store. Even walmart has it in the home paint section. If you use a toothbrush, don't use one that's transparent. The acetone will melt it. Use the acetone outside and let it evaporate completely before bringing it back indoors. It's extremely flammable. Don't let it drip onto any plastic material. It will likely melt it.

I am with Perry on this one too. You can see that the diode is bad, the path between the RCA and the diode is what burnt. You may not need anything other than the diode.
