No one has tried to use them ( or at least it isnt public knowledge)......I would say yes they can be used, but i'm not sure. Some will say no just because the aperature size is rather small, but i would counter saying that the aperature size isnt as important as the focal length and proper allignmnet since the point of the fresnel is to create a virtual image that the projection lens sees.
Personally I plan on trying it after i build my projector (i'm using a commercial PJ lens, but will be putting a standard C mount lens on later just to see if i can.....
