Hi All,

I know that AD1862 R2R dac chip have a "unique" pin layout as it use current as an output, Iout is pin 11, in all the other AD186x current output dac chips the Iout is pin 13, therefore will not work on pcb that originally designed for AD1862 chip.
Does anyone knows any other DAC chip (not only from Analog devices) that can be used as a direct replacement for AD1862 chip with the same pin layout?
The reason for my question is that if there is no other direct replacement DAC chip for AD1862 how it can be faked?

Peace,
Guy

Yes' I would like to know if there is other DAC chip that is pin compatible with the AD1862.
I've mentioned "fake" because I see a lot of AD1862 chips on ebay, and I know that there are a lot of fake R2R dacs chips on ebay (like the PCM1704\PCM1702\PCM63).

I discovered that there is another version, AD1862N-Z but couldn't find any info about it.

I can only find that this was possibly a special part for Denon. We had a relationship with Denon where we got an employee discount on their products. Not sure this part has any better performance specs. BTW fake parts except maybe for upgrading to the "J" are a stretch. I have never seen anyone actually fabricate fakes except for a few power management parts where the masks were stolen because they could be run on a generic CMOS process.
