Can a 6DZ7 be used in any mode other than pentode?

I've got a few 6DZ7s....and I understand that they are essentially a pair of EL84's in one bottle that share a screen.....


Since there is only one screen, is Triode and UL out of the question?

Because they were in an IO8 pin base several internal connections couldn't be taken to a separate pin --



As UL requires two separate "G2" screens I don't see how they can be used unless you used two of them defeating the design purpose .
