i have a Cambridge Audio a1 mk2 amp im wanting to turn it into a preamp.
all i need is ideas on a suitable power supply to run the pre stage.

nothing wrong with the psu but seems to be a waist of a big transformer its not going to need that much power to run a preamp plus it is going to be needed for the power amp when i fit it to is new case.

You didn't say anything about that. So tell us exactly what you intend to do, the whole story, and then maybe we'll have better answers.
