Hello all, and thanks for looking at my post. I have a question to ask of you in the know. I've been looking for any "real" information on the net about Satilite TV. I'm not trying to "crack" or "hack" any technology, just trying to find out how this actually works. All I have found thus far is your typical marketing mumbo (not technical at all), how I should buy a system from this vender or that vender.

I have a Bell sat. dish, and would love to learn exactly how it works, basically what is being brodcasted to my dish and how. I'm Just like you all, I love learning and trying new technology...great hobby...painfull when I got into rebuilding Tube amps...but much better now🙂

I didn't know where to place this query (Video is new to me...) and hope to learn more in the future (even if you can just point me to a link, that would be great).

Satellite Basics

I've been thinking about trying to upgrade my Dish Network system (add a receiver and dual LNB to the antenna). In my browsing I came upon the following basic information:
