Calculations for multiple drivers.

If two identical drivers share the same cabinet do I simply double the cabinet volume? It seems logical in one sense but illogical in another.

e.g. Mathematically 2 x 6.5" drivers in the same cabinet would require double volume. However, if you consider displacement factors this setup only differs slightly for a dual-coil 8" driver in the same space.

For two sealed identical drivers sharing the same cabinet doubling the cabinet volume compared to one driver will result in the same basic alignment.

For two identical drivers sharing the same ported cabinet doubling the cabinet volume and number of identical ports compared to one cabinet will result in the same basic alignment.

Why illogical? And a dual-coil 8" well that is just another animal, even if the total cone are is similar, apples and oranges. The Thiele-Small parameters are surely different or I'd be very very surprised.

Attachment 1 - Black trace = 1 driver, grey trace = 2 drivers connected in parallel.
Attachment 2 - Black trace = 1 driver, grey trace = 2 drivers connected in series.

Constant amplifier output voltage, cabinet volume doubled for two drivers.
