thanks

Hi,

There is a CAR forum for that kind of competition woofer😱 nonsense sub= 20000W with no x-max stated !!!

20000 Watts for the Cadencesound ZW1520K-D4...:scratch2:

Hmmm, that is about 50 amperes per Voice Coil (based on a Re of 4 Ohm per coil and 200Volts). These days that is possible. Actually B&C and 18Sound for instance have managed to allow 60 amperes running trough their coils for peak pwr.

What is more difficult to achieve is the claim on that PDF of 6000Kw rms. Although rms is not really a definition it does suggest that one coil can handle 27.4 amperes continue. That is something much more difficult to achieve from a driver engineering point of view.

If you look to the high figures of BL, induction and moving mass, than these figures could be prove of some serious homework by the engineers of Cadence (I suppose engineers from a third party😀) but also its weakness.

But like Bjorno already suggested, even if these claims are possible electrically, there is still the physical movement and forces you have to deal with. Besides advanced suspension & spider techniques I guess you will also need some accurate calculated 'acoustical suspension' from the enclosure to keep the excursion under control.

Although from a technically point of view all these claims already have been achieved by companies like B&C and 18Sound for instance, it is still not common engineering. Even if the claims of Cadence are valid, what about the durability of the used materials and what about the losses?

Therefore I would not say it is not possible🙂, but difficult... yes.
