cable distance in baffle

Hello,

I'm building a 3-way speaker, with the intent to run the cable from the crossover to the drivers in the baffle. I have two layers of 22 mm MDF, and I'll make an cut in the inner layer, so the cut comes between the two layers.
I want to do this, so I can exchange the wiring in case of an upgrade or defect. The crossover is also mounted in the stand of the speaker.

Now I'm left with a few options:
I can make two larger cuts, on the opposite of the relfex port, and run through the first the positive cables to the drivers, and through the second the negative side.
I also can make three smaller cuts, with an dedicated cut for each driver.
I could also make an external crossover, and run the wiring through the speaker to a set of binding posts. But I'll only do this when somebody is kind enough to donate 24 high quality binding posts. 😉

I would like to know which option gives the best result. In my opinion the second is the best, so there is less chance of crosstalk, and the compartments of the divers are less connected to each other (as I don't have too much space on the baffle). Now they only come together in the stand, but I can seal them off there.

Thanks in advance.
