Thank you so much. My burson audio op amp has been sitting in my desk collectiong dust because i have no clearance in my computer after I upgraded.
I am not sure hooking a discrete opamp with so long wires in the extremely noisy PC environment will bring any advantage compared to some decent integrated opamp.
I'm running it through my auzentech x-fi forte to a Integra DTC-9.8/Emotiva XPA-5 and to a $5k speaker system. Noisy or not I heard differences in my previous set up. It definitely changed the sound signature. It was more neutral and clearer sounding, slightly better bass.
OK, but you did not run 10cm leads across the motherboard. I am not saying it will not work, just expressing concerns.
In case someone else runs into this thread off Google & my apologies for pulling up a pretty old thread, but most forums encourage you to do this vs. make new threads every time.
