Hi,
Im thinking about building my first speaker, I already have designed a vented box that is tuned around 40 hz. I want to put 2 Dayton audio nd105-4 4" drivers in the box and a plate amplifier, i was thinking about the Dayton audio SA25 25w. Would this be enough power for both drivers? Does anyone have tips for puting the box together?
I would appreciate your help!

You op, maybe are interested in mini subs, 4"?!
Or is it the small price...
Makes me think of the Bose systems.

If you want to experiment with the drivers (2×4, series for 8 ohm) put them in a sealed 12 L speaker and you can use the 25 W. You can also test with Linkwitzs.
Op,
How can you design a vented box tuned to 40 Hz if don't know the best for the driver you are using? WHAT'S THIS??? What is the net volume of that speaker anyway. You forgot to mention... An ALIGNMENT is a (1) Volume net Vb and a tuning (2) frequency Fb!!!

Hi,
The amplifier manages a paltry 15W into 8 ohms, a very bad idea.
Mentioning LT's is pretty pointless as this level of expertise.
rgds, sreten.
Op,
Look at this driver if you are interested in its size and price:
Seas ER15RLY H1455 it will need a 50W.
Another interestig option is the Seas P14RC. Have fun.

I saw videos on YouTube of people using the nd105-4 4" as a subwoofer, so i want to build a small subwoofer. Or maybe if you have other suggestions for good drivers i could use other drivers. But my budget is €150 (because it is my first build)
I came across this woofer, Beyma 8Woofer/PV2, would this be a better option?
What kind of box would you recommend, sealed or ported? I want to use it for playing rap music

Pointless yes, "very bad idea" - I beg your pardon - no. A sealed 15 L, no correction, just needs a 16W amp for achieving Xmax. For hi-fi, SPL in room, of course not.Hi,

Works very fine in a sealed speaker or reflex 70 L tuned to 30Hz as an alternative sub enclosure. Use a 30-40/50w RMS amp if using it in BR.

does it have to be 70 liter? could i also make it bigger, like 85 liters?
Hi,
BEYMA 8WOOFER/P-V2 pdf, VB = 85.0 L, FB = 28.0 Hz
F3 (in room): 23.5 Hz
Ports (diam/length): 1x9.4 cm/24.11 cm or 2x7.4 cm/31.72 cm.
(Surfaces PS1 : 69.40 cm2, Surfaces PS2 : 86.02 cm2)
With the two port option, less chuffing.

It is a driver for 50W. If using at max SPL or having a very powerful amp 75-100W then ports should be calibrated for the same power or use the double port 3"-4".
Volume displaced by driver: 1.5 L
Volume displaced by (2x) 3" ports: 3 L
Total driver + 2 ports : 4.5 L
VB 85.0 L net + 4.5 L = ~90 L

As was said before you could also drive it in a sealed combo, with your mini amp.
