Hello
Can someone help with some suggestions and tips, and maybe even links,
on my build,
I am in process of buying the pieces to make small solar radio for beach.
radio New 9088 FM Tuner Radio Electronic DIY Components Kit SZSP13 | eBay
and solar 6V 3 5W 580 600mA Solar Panel USB Travel Battery Charger for iPhone 6 Cell Phone | eBay
These are just quick finds so i will buy different if better.I need help on figuring how much voltage ,Watts do i need on my panel for radio to work.
And is it possible to ad mp3 to play instead of radio when desired.
What trumpet do you suggest what values are good, and is it smart to build out of wood.
Thank you

To be fair, you're not asking for construction tips, but, "decide for me what project I want to do"
And maybe you're describing things you have envisaged but from here it looks like a pretty lame project, I'm sorry to say. Radio on the beach,
get one of these

What do you want to do with the trumpet?

not really "decide for me what project I want to do"
i really need help because i dont know the electronics so good, what i know i have learn on my own.
i will take a scheme and post it

If you're going to use a mono speaker and a sparrow fart amp, then you may as well just use the solar radio posted above. If you're going to go to the trouble of building something then in my opinion it should perform better then something that you can buy for less.
I suggest you look for 12V battery, 12V amp, at least some nice 3" fullrange speakers, and in stereo.
look in this thread for inspiration (give yourself 2 weeks reading time)

I'd try a big filter cap across the panel, then a step-down switching regulator to 12v. Hopefully the cap will supply the power to handle the music peaks. PV panel would be a 2 or 5 watt nominal 12v, really about 20 volts no load, hence the switching regulator. Amp would be an efficient TA2024 or such.
I knew that you guys are going to hate 1 speaker setup, well it is audio forum.
thanks for the info i will look into it...

For the sake of saving some (precious) energy, one amp/one speaker can be done. Although the TDA series work in class AB and that's about 30 % (?) efficiency, so don't dismiss class d or T ( about 90 % eff. ).
I say go for it.
🙂
You'll always get comments like that on the internet.
"Go bigger" "Make it louder" "build it like this"
You've obviously got a plan, an idea of what you want to build and I think you should stick to it.
Not everything has to be high-end HiFi.
Last time I checked, this was the DIY AUDIO forum, not the Audiophile Forum. 😉
I'll be watching this thread as I'm keen to venture in to the unknown world of solar power as well.
Keep things simple to begin with, build something basic and progress from there.
No matter how many things you build after this one and how good they are, this one will be the one you'll love the most!
🙂

There is always a danger of that when you ask for opinions on how to build something.

Well if he wants to build a small solar powered mono system I think he should do so.
The aim here seems to be to keep it small, light and simple.

I build small amp units myself. The issue is getting good sound from tiny speakers..
I use 5 volt cell phone bank batteries, which will operate an amp and a blue tooth receiver. A cell phone with music or an MP3 player with a blue tooth transmitter eliminates the need for a volume control..
A simple charge circuit can be a LM7805 regulator and a small flexible solar panel. The regulator will handle up to 32 volts open circuit from the panel and regulate ~1 amp @ 5 volts on the output. Perfect for charging a bank battery..
Hack up a couple of USB cables and you're rockin'..

i really like the idea that picowallspeaker said with 3.7W Class D Audio Amplifier
they are really cheap 1.5 dolars with pot,
and a question for OffGridKindaGuy what is common terminal on LM7805 ,can it be used
to pulse relay so i can use it as battery charger ragulator
and Dirty Vinylpusher it will ba small (relativ )
and do any one know a god diy cheap buuit in antena sheme
good thing,i got mp3 module with remote working but damaged remote (little crack) and seller will refund,so almost for free

The common is ground. (Center Pin) Both commons from the battery and the panel would connect to this pin. It's a simple 5 volt regulator..

I use bank batteries because of simplicity. Supply them with a regulated 5 volt supply and they control the charge internally. The USB connection is pretty much universal which makes them flexible..
Those class D amps tear up FM broadcast receivers to the point of unusable, just so ya know.. 😉

That's a good idea.
Protects the solar panel wen not in use and gives you more area when the box is open.
🙂
Those little chip amps produce bunches of R.F. interference that swamps out an FM receiver. It doesn't hurt them electrically but you won't pick up many radio stations unless they are very strong. That's been my experience..
