What's the cheapest way to get some heavy amps (264lbs/120kg total) from Canada to Europe? Could be one palette, or three smaller packages.
For 120kg FedEx want >US$3000 (!), but that's for 3-day, which I don't need - 3 months by ship would be fine. I can't believe there's not a better deal but unsure where to look.
Any advice welcome!
Thx

Take the transformer out of the enclosure and
perhaps you might use the option planet proposed,
4 x 30 kg packages..

Pearson airport in Toronto has a cargo services department.. You drive the box right to the airport office and secure a rate.. The price is better than Fedex..
Is there an international airport near?
I've shipped a pair of Bryston 7B mono block amps to France and a pair to Italy.. This was 10 Years ago, the price was $600..
Did some pricing with Fedex over the last couple of years.. Ridiculously high Rates, but when you talk with them on the phone they will lower the stated rate..

Good points re transformers (two per amp, heavy beasts) to keep under 30kgs. I'll see if vendor will do it.
Can't drive to airport myself, am in CH(!). Waiting for a quote from a shipper but if best price for 2xBryston monoblocks (50kg tot) was $600 ten years ago, I'll have to abandon the whole idea 🙁
Thanks all,

Persuade a friend to take them as checked baggage?
There must be ways to ship things by sea that ordinary humans can use.

Fedex has a "Great Rates" program. Call their 800 number...ask about it...Big discounts, funny structure...sometimes faster is cheaper...I found out about it after some shipments to Thailand...It has to be packed and ready to go, and it only works some days of the week...I think it's part of how they sell last minute spare space on the planes.
