Craigslist free lead me to a Soundesign 5788, that barely functioned. So in a blaze of screw drivers and wire cutters, I stripped it of it's useful switches, power supply, etc etc. I pulled the turn table off originally with no real interest in doing anything with it. After I got done pulling things apart, I noticed that the turn table is just a totally self contained unit, perfect for a little DIY project.
The plan is to build a base for it, and wire it up. A new cartridge and needle, and hopefully one day I can get this platter off and grease it's innards.
Problem is though, I paid no attention to what the 4 pin connector on the turn table went to. I would assume 1 wire (black to green) is ground, 2 are for power, and 1 for the switch from the source selector?
And also, the sticker says 120v; can I just run wall power straight into it? And if not, what does it need to be?
