Is it possible to bridge the two stereo outputs of an integrated amp to make one high power mono output? (To drive a power-hungry subwoofer)?
How easy is it? (And costly?)

Possible and easy. You can either build an external invertor or use a couple of resistors and a switch as some cheap-skate companies like NAD used to do. If you really want better quality a circuit around INA134 or a phase splitting transformer will be better. There have been numerous threads about this.
I'm a bit of a newbie with amplifier electronics (although with help I will be able to do it), so a step by step guide or something I would appreciate 🙂
