Brass Buss Bar

I am starting to build a Zen V4. I would like to use a buss bar to connect the rather large capacitors together. I am having difficulty finding inexpensive copper plate but I have access to some 1/16" brass plate for free. Is brass ok to use for this purpose?

Brass is not very good for this purpose. Particularly WRT the 0volt buss which will be the center of your star ground and 0volt reference for the amp.

Here is a link to McMaster Carr. They even have OFC cooper strips and they will get it to you within a couple days.

You could also use heavy gauge solid cu wire for your buss. That would be better then brass.

scrap dealers have buss bar....got copper 1x1/4 in 2 foot sections for 10 bucks

Of course you'll need the matching rhodium over silver on solid copper capacitor screws.😉

Go to an electrical supplier. Copper buss bars are used in your house fusebox(at
least they are in NZ). They are perfect as the are supplied with predrilled & copper screws installed.
You will need caps with screw terminals.
You'll get a very tidy looking result.
