I'm a newbie to the electronic part of the audio chain as my following questions will prove. 🙄 So, I was just curious if its possible to make a direct swap of the lm3886 for the lm3875 in the bpa 200? Just don't want to deal with the muting circuit. Also, how much lower output would I be getting if I lowered the power supply from the suggested 42V to one of these... 24/30/36?
Thanks for any help, and/or heckling,
Mats J

Hi Mats,
if I remember correctly you can swap the IC´s but only in one direction. One of the pins will be unsused.
Just have a look in the datasheet...
As for supply voltages you just have to look into the sheets cause output power depends on speaker impedance as well.
Especially with those chips.
For 4 Ohms for example you should use something like +-28V and for 8Ohms +-35V. Bridged circuitry will get you different results.
