Boombox Amp question.

Hi Guys,

A while back I made a Boombox from a pair of Warfdale Diamond 4’s, a Lepai LP-2020a Amp & a 12v sealed lead acid battery all cobbled together with a couple of bits of wood and few screws.. The results of which were impressive, I’m no Audiophile but I thought the sound was detailed with a good punchy bass and considering I had the speakers and battery lying around and the £25 amp price, the project was a cheap one too!

Since I have acquired a pair of Tannoy S8iw Inwall Speakers which use the Tannoy 8” Dual Concentric drivers and associated crossovers etc.. so this got me thinking of making a better version using better components,

The overall construction won’t be a problem as I’m a trained carpenter and should be able to calculate and tune the enclosure/ports to match the drivers etc.. for the size and shape I was thinking something along the lines of the Tannoy VXP 8.2 with a slight size increase to incorporate the battery and amp etc

So which Amp to use?.. This is where I could use some advice.

I came across the Sure Electronics range of amp boards and was looking at STA508 2 x 100W 4 Ohm Class D Audio Amplifier Board Stereo T-Amp
I would appreciate any advice or help on the which amp to use.. or anything else you think may be relevant to do with the project

Thanks!
