Hello Kevin G.
I am not too familiar with Bob Pease, myself.
Have seen several cases here, where he has been refered to.
I guess he is some sort of 'audio prophet '
& one 'doing reality check phreak' man 😉
He must have written more than 2 articles on Caps
.... during his years in this his first life
😎 Here is one new:

What's All This Capacitor Leakage Stuff, Anyhow?
We all know that capacitors have a shunt resistance (leakage) and that leakage resistance should be pretty easy to measure, right? Wrong! I did a test measuring a lot of capacitors for short-term soakage (dielectric absorption) in October 1982. After the short-term soakage stops, it's possible (not easy) to measure the leakage. For example, if you charge a...

Bob Pease is a mighty guru at National who's designed a _lot_ of opamps and other parts. He Knows Whereof He Speaks.

Andy: R. Crumb!
Pease has also written one of the best books on practical electronics that I've ever seen: "Troubleshooting Analog Circuits."

Yup 🙂. Is yours one of the Freak Brothers?

I should probably get a copy of that one.
Yes- Shelton and Crumb were idols in my house when I was growing up. My avatar is Phineas because he looks very much like I did at that time.
You'll like the Pease book- he has a very distinctive voice, and there's just as much philosophy as nuts-and-bolts.

I've known Bob for 25 years, well enough to know that a lot of people would be disappointed to hear some of his "off the record" comments about the audiophile community. Un fortunately he has discontinued the annual "dinosaur" party (I have not seen his VW decorated like one in years).

Um, trust me, he hasn't exactly made a secret of them. On the other hand, he also points out that things which measure the same might not sound the same:

Until you notice they sound different and make more measurements, that is.
