blown power supply proxima dp6500x (mbates14 read me)

I believe my power supply is blown on my projector listed in subject line. I plug it in and no sound or led light. So from researching these forums I have heard mbates14 is the man. So if you are reading this can you please respond etc so I can contact you and discuss possible repair. I am a new user and unable to Email you directly.

If anyone else has this unit or similar experience I would appreciate any feedback, I cant even get it open to look inside. I unscrew the back 2 screws but it seems like there is something holding it together still with no more visible screws.


The Proxima DP6500x projector was manufactured by InFocus as the LP650. This projector was also marketed as:

Hello I want to ask for info. My ASK C200 (InFocus lp650) projector when it is switched on several minutes the green light is flashing every second, the ventilation system is working.After 2min starts the red light flashing every two seconds. Than any button is not working. I found at the manuall instructions about this breakdowns , but I did not catch anything what is the problem off the lamp failure or power supply or ballast . Thanks

Sti_lin, there should be 4 screws at the bottom in total. Remove the lamp first. Take the 4 T10 screws out. Remove the front cover (the handle cover) while prising open the casing by starting from the rear. Once, the case is open, remove the power supply (not the ballast). The power supply is the board closest to the rear of the projector. Once removed, look for C16 a 100uF 16V Capacitor. Try replacing that Cap with the same value one, preferably a 105C one. If you do decide to power it up before boxing it up, make sure the Lamp Cover is on else the lamp will not strike.

And ive shared, I believe I have shared most if not all of my repair methods.
