Hi new member here.
Connected old Denon 8r integrated and 8 power amp which are biwired to replacement speakers without noticing they had jumper strips fitted. Blown internal fuse. Fitted the spare and that blew.
Any ideas on what I will have damaged and whether viable to repair?
Many thanks in advance
Mark
I removed the jumpers at the rear of the speakers before trying the spare fuse
The integrated amp blew . The power amp still powers up

Start by searching the schematic/service manual and posting it here, and build a lamp bulb limiter, with an around 40-50W bulb (with a red hot filament inside, not LEDs and such)
Denon.
Big doo doo you are in.
Minimum is blown outputs, maximum is pre amp and selector / processor, some parts are hard to find.
Be utterly careful, proceed by the book, ask here if out of your depth.
Or give it to an experienced repair man.
Also, describe your experience, and tools / equipment available, good meters and so on are needed.
Denon are hard to set up properly during or after repairs, complex circuits for the most part.
Not for the inexperienced.

Many thanks to you. My bro is very technically capable. I’ll task him with taking a look. Will update if any progress is possible.
if i read that right.
you wired an integrated amplifier to one set of binding posts.
and.
a power amplifier to the other set of binding posts.
to a pair of speakers that are 'bi- WIRED'.
if so this was your first mistake.
bi WIRE and bi AMP are two completely different things.
just because a speaker has two sets of terminals does not mean it can be used with two amplifiers.
what are the speakers, and what does its owners manual say for connections ?
