Birch and MDF why and where?

I’m seeing differing opinions on materials and thicknesses to use. The options that are available to me are MDF and birch plywood why and where would I use each material?

It will be a 3 way with 10” 6.5 “ 1” I will be removing some of the diffracting upper baffle around the tweeter and mid so probably going to need to use MDF on the front.

Thanks!
John

WRT speaker cabs we typically want to raise a LF - mids cab's resonance above its intended passband (rigid, high MOE) and lower it below the mids - up BW (massive, low MOE) with some info here discussing this and thickness required and quite a few construction threads to (re) search.

With internal baffling, it depends on span ratios and/or where you need bracing along with how you plan to brace, so no simple answers and why folks normally just use the same for the whole cab except maybe the baffle and maybe scraps of other materials to 'bulletproof' them.
