Hi I have a subwoofer amp, but the problem is that it was from an older subwoofer and does not offer a LFE mode. It contains an internal crossover that does not have the option for bipassing it. I am woundering if anyone has had a problem like mine and has successfully bipassed this.
I am just woundering if it can be done. I am not sure of the schematic--it is a amp out of a cambridge soundworks sub.
Well, at least describe what connections are available on it. Are all connections speaker level, line level, or both, and how many channels? Are there any knobs for crossover freq?
Sure. There are speaker and line level inputs (both 1 and 2 channel) along with x-over frequency selection.
Well then, if your fronts go down low enough, then you may be able to get good results by putting the crossover knob at the highest possible value and feeding the LFE out of your receiver to the sub, and setting the receiver's crossover at whatever suits the F3 of your fronts.
