Ha! I had a devil of a time with that too. I think you are suppose to jam those wires into the slots like they do with telephone wires. Maybe there is some special tool for that but I just used a small screwdriver. After a few weeks one of the wires came out and I could not get it to make contact again. I ended up cutting the top part of the connector off with a hacksaw to expose the pins. Then I soldered the wires on.
