I bought a some expensive low noise boards and subsequently had magic smoke from one and then it's replacement before working out the cause. Cheap DC jack I bought was short circuiting the output.
Both boards where returned to South Korea and and I've received an e-mail the same day the parcel tracking confirmed receipt. The fried parts have been identified and photographed and the expensive boards will be fixed for just $23 plus return postage at about the same amount.
First class service and great to know you can get these things repaired by the MFR.
