I'm still a newbie here but not to amp building. I'm not a musician either. However I have freinds that are. Both guitar and harp.
They've told me the like to practice with the Champ but need more power for giging.
I allways wanted to try an 813 SE so why not? It was se like the champ and a pentode.
The power amp section is from a schimatic hyjacked from the internet. The preamp section is Fender B/T. The plate supply runs at 780 v. I've got DC on all heaters ( its dead quiet).
Its doing a clean 20 watts. Then it gets dirty the way thre like it. I'll try to get one of the players to discribe its preformance in musician terms soon. There all outa town for awhile. Big iron on this thing. It is 35LBs heavy.

Wow. Thats a bigen. What kinda #s you gettin from this beast.

I wired all that stuff together one day just to see what would happen. It cranked out about 200 watts and could be heard from 2 blocks away. I had it on my bench for about a week, then took it all apart since it took up the whole workbench. That was about 5 years ago and I never got around to building it permanently.
