Hey Everyone. BIB question. I'm planning on building a FAST/WAW setup. Overall build thread here:
https://www.diyaudio.com/forums/everything-else/376225-topology-overall-system-design-considerations.html
I'm currently planning to build a pair of BIB enclosures using 6 inch-ish FR drivers. Of the FR drivers available today, $250 and below, which are good choices for this enclosure? I'll probably get them from madisound, because I don't know of any other site that sells them.
Contenders are:
Fostex FE168NS 6.5"
Fostex FE166NV 6.5"
Fostex FE168EZ 6.5" Sigma
Markaudio Alpair-10P Paper Cone
Seas H1794 (FEA18RCZ) 7"
If I've overlooked a good choice, please inform me.
I will add a subwoofer and super tweeter. As far as taste, I listen to everything, but find myself most often listening to 70s-90s rock/pop or newer indy. I occasionally like to play loud, but never extremely loud.
Room corners are available. 14' wide, 8' ceiling, no real depth because the room opens into the kitchen area.
Thanks!
Jason

Thanks Dave.
I just checked and the 10p is sold out. Of course!
Any other recommendations for drivers still being manufactured but not in my list?

Alpair 10P is still manufactured and availeble down here. It just seems that US stores don't have stock anymore. But if you really want them: Markaudio Alpair-10P woofer kopen? - SoundImports
Not saying it's the best but I really do enjoy this driver in a BIB (originally built for the Fostex 127e). The cheaper Dayton driver is so much fun with lots of bass and an overall balanced sound. Perfect for Reggae music.

I'd also consider this one if you want to save money on a less expensive Fostex.

Alpair 10p is not discontinued. Bug Madisound so they bring some in.

What about the 10.3M instead, maybe it's in stock (didn't check) but I've found it to be a good driver.
I will give a big thumbs up to the A 10.3. I built a pair of BIBs w/ A 10.3 & really enjoy them. They are very tall w/ small foot print. Note that because of small foot print, I anchored them to the wall to avert disaster. (see my posts in the BIB thread).
