Looking at measurements (HoppyHiFi magazine Germany) I think it can be said in general that the Mundorfs have smoother response and lower distortion for comparable sizes with Dayton. Beyma is on par with Mundorf I think.
Does this make the Daytom bad drivers? .... not at all, in general ATM's have lower distortion than most other tweeters. But as Erik says, some are not that easy to make work with passive crossover .... or rather it takes more components due to freq response.
But here in this thread I also think we are talking about larger systems with requirement for very high output ... right?
Beyma would probably be first choice, but is also a bit costly, so Dayton pro4 would be a good alternative.

I haven't heard Dayton AMTs but I'm heard Beyma TPL-150 and Aurum Cantus AST25120 and Mundorf AMT25.
I think TPL-150 sound best of all. the sound is more spacious than Mundorf IMO. Aurum Cantus sound just as good as Mundorf and is easier to HPF than Mundorf and is less expensive. after all Aurum Cantus and Mundorf both sound very good and I can score them both but TPL-150 is in another league. I yet to listen to TPL-200

Interesting. i can say that the AMT25s i bought met spec, and measured flawlessly. i dont rwemember the distortion figures, but measured at 1m, between 70 and 95 db there was no measurable compression. Zero. If the Beymas are better i would love to hear them
Dave,
Silly question. When you listened to the drivers, you didnt by any chance use a Mundorf Supreme on the Beyma, but different caps on the others, did you?
Best,
Erik
