best way to connect sub

I have a Mirage S12 subwoofer but I feel I'm not getting much hard hitting bass out of it. The whole house is shaking and all that but lacking in hard hitting bass. It's connected with by lfe at the moment.Should I be using the speaker level inputs on the sub instead? The manual specifies that I should be using either one but not both connections at the same time.
Has anyone experience in connecting powered subwoofer with LFE and speaker level connections? What is the best way?Can anyone enlighten me pls?
TIA!

No clue if it has any 'slam'/'thump', but does 'sound' like the sub is in a primary room null, which will be somewhere around mid wall, so try different locations.

Not unless it will be driven with a separate amp, i.e. its onboard amp is bypassed.

LFE line level signal will produce the best results from your sub so don't waste your time with speaker level.
Your problem is related to the subs position relative to your listening position, and perhaps your expectations as well.

If you are getting lots of bass everywhere except at your listening position then you are sitting in the wrong place.. or another way top look at it is... the sub is in the wrong place. The solution is to put the sub in your listening position and crawl around the perimeter of the room until you find where bass is loudest, that is where the sub should go.
As for your expectations, bass kick occurs at 60-70hz so first question is what is your crossover frequency and what are the main speakers? If the mains cannot produce any impact at 60-70hz and you have the sub crossed below that then there is part of your problem. Solution is cross to the sub higher at 80-90hz.
It could also be that you simply don't have enough subbage to get the displacement you need, a single 12 might produce bass you can feel inside a car but it might take a pair of 18's to even start ot get that kind of impact inside a room.
