Best resonance freq.. for guitar speaker driver

I have some 7 inch and I found out they have res. Freq 40hz. Do you have ideas how to raise the fz? of a driver.
The resonant frequency goes up if you mount the speakers in a sealed (not open, not ported) box. But raising it from 40 Hz all the way to 80 Hz would have other consequences, it will make the bass response peaky.

I'm not sure you need to raise the resonant frequency, though. I suggest just trying the 7 inch as it is - the guitar doesn't go down to 40 Hz, but at low power, it doesn't hurt anything if the speaker does go that low.

(At high power, the speaker might potentially be damaged because of the soft suspension that allows the resonance frequency to be that low.)

One of my home-made speaker cabs has two 8" speakers in it, one with a 60 Hz resonance, one with 130 Hz. The 130 Hz one sounds better, to my surprise.

Later I realized that even though the low E string on a guitar is tuned to 83 Hz, most of the energy in the vibrating string is not in the fundamental, but rather in the 2nd, 3rd, and higher harmonics. So not much bass below 166 Hz, actually.
