Anybody familiar with bazilion of cheap now, older DV series of Pioneer universal players ? Which is the one to get for transport quality and some simple basic mods (transport duty is most important and loading time too)

The DV79avi is the best of the super-reliable generation of Pioneer universals. None of the DV models are more than average as transports in stock form, but the 79 can be great with a good clock upgrade & some power supply enhancement. On it's own, very nice sounding player, w/PCM1738 dacs. Reliability it the real strength, being, as far as I've yet seen, the most reliable model series of a universal player yet made by anyone.
