best PC based audio analyser

Hi all

I'm looking to get a really good and accurate PC based audio test set. I've looked at RMAA (Rightmark) and truRTA. Is there anything else I should look at? I'd like to be able to measure RIAA, amplifier power and distortion etc accurately. I am on a limited budget maybe a $300 or so.

I have an outboard Lexicon soundcard which is 24bit/192 compatible. Would I also need to build a 20dB or 60dB ULN preamp for RIAA testing and noise testing?

Sorry for the questions but thank you for your time

regards

Rob

s/w for analysis

These posts are helpful! I have been searching and searching for an accurate relationship between h/w and s/w, but you guys have been a big help. This Liberty and Lexicon, although I will need to look closer, seem as though they are products that may possibly be what I am looking for. I am attempting to view several sigs, i.e. two preamp outs, two digital out, two mic's, maybe more. I have been sort of at a standstill; either the s/w functionality is questionable, or the hardware quality or functionality is questionable... I'm sure you all understand where my conflicts are with this topic.
I considered m-audio, albeit for a very short time!
Measurement Computing, I did really consider this daq, but not so sure if it is designed specifically enough for pulling in audio sigs, plus their cards may be overkill as far as what I need, i.e. paying for too much horsepower in a card!
This Lexicon interface! - those of you that have mentioned this product...is this Lexicon a possible candidate for analyzing audio sig from various sources?
Thanks
