John, I don't quite get the point of the article you linked to. If it
is an April first joke, then it shouldn't really make any claims not
to be, and not make any such references at all, I think. Or is the
point that BBC was fooled to believe in this and report it as
true news?

the best april fools joke i have ever seen on the net was a story about people capturing monkies in island areas by fishing for them. They would sit in boats and have bannans tied to strings that where lying on the island. They would then wait for monkies like you would wait for a fish to bite a lure. The sad part is, this wasnt an april fools joke. The story was actually published by a well regarded internet news site (on a non april 1st date). The lead editor actually bought it and aproved it.... I did forget the web site this was on, but it was big news at one point.
