I pulled apart my Behringer Ultracoustic AT108
The preamp (and only IC onboard) is a 14 pin smd ST brand 074c - 93p433 - datasheet seems to indicate a JFET quad op amp.
into ST brand TDA 2030A
and 20w 2way "full range" 8" speaker.
Q: So do Jfet pre's produce the "tube type" saturation harmonics in general, or is this just the one chip?

TL072 / TL074 is just an inexpensive opamp. I wouldn't expect any sonic magic, although they are pretty good for the price.
