Beginner building a PA speaker for the first time

Hi,
im looking at building a pa speaker for the first time and wanted it to plug directly into my phone. I enjoy loud music and really just want to build the most basic speaker without worrying too much about the endless little bits and pieces (as i would struggle to understand them). Can anyone help ? the only experience ive had with speakers is my car audio system which i wired myself

i had a few questions to start off
1. what are the basic components i need for a pa speaker? (and to be able to plug it into my phone)

2. Is it better to have a full range speaker and a horn in the speaker or have each of the different drivers.

3. And what is the best type of box to build for a pa speaker (if plans are available that would greatly help)

As for the plans for speakers, you can get it from eminence or other driver manufacturers.
One driver or multi drivers, the answer depends on how good the sound should be.

There is no good plan in general for any speaker. The box and the speaker(s) is dedicated to each other.

Depends on your budget, and how big and heavy it can be.

How many watts do you need ?

Fane do some good full range speakers.
I have used the sovereign 12-200LT and the 12-250TC and both sound very good.
