Hello all!
Does anyone have the PCB layout of Barney Oliver´s amplifier?
I´m planning to reproduce it for fun.
Thanks in advance,

Hello blmn,
If your request is still active, I may have a copy of Chris's original hand-written schematic of the BOA project somewhere in the attic. I do not have a layout or any other documentation, only the memory of how good it sounded on Chris's large JBL's, also built by Chris...(seated, third from the left. All have proud smiles, even from Barney, who definitely had a large booming voice in meetings...)
Best, David

Would be fantastic if you provide the schematic to the forum.
Regards!
If that’s the original schematic from the development phase, it should be preserved as a piece of audio history IMVTks David!

On it!
This might take a few days, as I am not sure which box has that one... but I did see it a couple of years ago...🙂

Update: No luck so far after going through all the folders in several boxes...but several boxes remain...
I am beginning to worry that I threw it out during one of our EOL/retirement purges of "stuff".
Perhaps I remembered Chris' schematic because I reviewed it before I tossed it away...

The original manual shows just the schematics and parts lists, no PCB layouts.

Update 2: No luck after searching the last two audio boxes...very disappointing. After holding Chris's schematics (circa 1971) for 45 years from 1979, and glancing at them occasionally, now that someone shows an interest, they are gone as a result of my last document purge. Frustrating.
So, blmn, I do hope you find the board info you are looking for and enjoy your fun project!

P.S.
I was a kid mechanical-automation guy at the time, hanging around with a informal audio-group of mostly
instrument-jocks and techs that included Chris, Lyman, Dick, Russ and Siegfried.
When Laurie Fincham would call, someone would excitedly exclaim over the cubicle-maze, "Fincham from England!"
Of course, me, clueless, was thinking, " who is Fincham? why England? and why are they yelling when we are trying to concentrate? "
While I was looking for an amp to build at the time, Chris suggested the BOA, but I ended up building my own version of Nelson Pass's A40 with a NE5534 as a front-end (biased class A from pin 5) and a massive back-buster power supply.

Smile. It needed a Beast-Mode power supply before Beast-Mode was "a thing"...
First, I asked this guy for some proper tonnage:
But he said, " GET LOST ! "
So, off I went to Halted on Ryder and fork-lifted some cool bits back to the workshop.
It was all worth the effort. Learned a lot. Beautiful sound. Thanks!
