BA-3 Complimentary 'integrated amp'

I'd like to build an amp and preamp and from the recommendations of another forum member he suggested the F4 would be what I'm looking for. And from our conversations he suggested that with the idea of building an integrated amp the following boards could be used to do that:

P-BAGSN-1V20 - Burning Amplifier Gain Stage for BA-3 (Requires bias boards and output stage; Makes 2 channels; Rev 2.0)

And this:

P-BAC-S4V20 - Burning Amplifier Complementary Bias and Output Set for the BA-2 & BA-3 (Requires a gain stage; Makes 2 channels; Rev 2.0)

And this:

Universal PSU V3?

If I wanted to get really fancy can I add this:

New Soft Start & Speaker Turn-On Delay and DC Protector Boards (Set of 2 boards)?

The idea is to put this all in a 5U chassis.

Is there maybe a reason why this wouldn't be a good idea?

Thanks in advance...Blake

No reason at all... In fact it's a fantastic idea!! 🙂

You will need a input selector and volume pot, and other than that, it's extremely straightforward.

I would suggest putting in the Soft-start and DC protection only after everything else is working properly.

I have to say that it was thanks to conversations with fellow DIYAudio forum member Einric that this idea came about. I have to believe someone else may have thought of this or in fact built one before. But if not it was because of messages and phone conversations we had. Einric helped me with tube preamp questions I had last year shortly after getting a VTA ST-120. Solid State is obviously the next step. That's why a BA-3 Complimentary is in the planning stage right now.
