B&W DM560 replacement tweeter.

So theres no other tweeter that will replace the original one,even without a slight modification of the cross-over? I find that a bit hard to beleive?

It's a question of what might physically fit. That's the familiar negative polarity 3rd order butterworth filter on 8" bass. Celestion and KEF used something like that a lot. About 3kHz crossover.

SEAS 22TAF/G might work with a 5W wirewound resistor around 5.6 ohms fitted before the tweeter filter. Or this with 2.2 ohms: H0532-08 19TAFD/G

Are you trying to upgrade, or are you trying to fix it?

If the diaphragm is still physically OK, it's most likely repairable.

The coil wire is broken right at the end of the terminal wire where it goes on the coil as in the photo,I tried to fix it but while I was trying snag that tiny wire out to solder it back on I noticed the coil wire had folded back over itself so Im not sure if it would work even if I did succeed in soldering it?

System7; Those Seas tweeters are great,I have some in my DCM QED 1A speakers.The hole for the B&W tweeter measures 90mm and the Seas 19TAFD/G is 93.8mm,so I wont have any trouble fitting them,I could dremel and handsand that much out no problem.Just one question,would I put the 5w resistor on the top of L3 or next to the fuse in the diagram? Ill see if cocoapuffs can help with a repair first before I go buying these. Thankyou very much for helping me out mate its appreciated.

Looks like its fixable by unwinding a turn.

I can't swear that 2.2R is right, there's always a bit of suck it and see with this sort of thing.

Move Capacitor C1 to the C2 position on the board and fit wirewound (2.2R) to R1 position by the look of it. 😎

The 19TAFD/G has 3 mounting holes making a 73mm triangle by my measurement. Or about 86mm circle aka PCD.
 
If its any consolation I have just repaired two of these tweeters this week, same problem, o/c at the former winding joint, you need to use a very sharp strong needle to prise away the end of the broken winding from the voice coil then unravel the wire to get enough to reterminate back onto the solder lug.

Don't forget you need to scrape off insulation
on the fine wire to get a decent soldered joint.

The seas tweeters are fairly expensive so Im going to try and fix the original tweeter first if I can find out how its done?
