B&W DM14 Speakers Recap

Hi all, Just in the process of recapping my B&W DM14 speakers as the mids sound a little muddy and they seemed to have lost a little of the high frequencies. I am going to replace the 2 Elcap caps ( the 5uf 50v and the 10uf 50v) with like for like Alcaps. I was wondering if the other two lytics( 47uf 16v and 100uf 16v) in the protection circuit would have any affect on the sound if I replaced these also or does the signal not go through these during normal operation of the speakers. I'm not sure if these are only in use when the protection circuit is in operation. If anyone could give me any help in this, it would be greatly appreciated. I have attached some photos and the schematic for clarity.
Best regards - Nick

Those two in the protection circuit are "psu" and coupling, have not to do with the sound, and unlikely to have been affected from strong signal work but change them anyway as they could have been affected by age. The 500uF DC protector and LF shape aid big one could be the most worked in. Takes an ESR meter to know exactly. In general as they dry up they progressively increase ESR that makes the sound duller and also drifts the original crossover regions in frequency. They change uF value drastically to less at a further degradation point in time too.

Its good practice replacing them all since that speaker was assembled at a time when a Sinclair ZX81 was the quad core Atom mini-PC of its era 😀

P.S. There are some cheap component meter boards with LCD display on ebay that do ESR also, but about their accuracy or reliability, don't ask me as I haven't used any of them.

Hoy thanks a lot for the schematic, where did you found it ?
Going to check the Xover myself in my DM14, they sound dull un the bass , hope it's some cap gone bad .
How did yours sounds now with new caps ? did you use non polarized caps or did you put two back to back , i usually do the BtB thing as it's chaeper than buying nonpolarized caps.
