so I installed an ax1870cp touch screen radio into my mazda over the weekend. the radio comes with apple car play, but no android auto, which i though was weird. i was playing around in the settings and figured out that android auto can be unlocked (don't know why it is locked out in the first place). anyway, go into the settings, then tap on the icons on the left in this order - clock -> gear -> clock -> gear -> clock -> info. now when you scroll down, a password option appears, enter 1234. when you go back to the main menu, android auto is the first option on the second page.
most touch screen radios have this sort of hidden menu. they can almost always be unlocked by tapping the menus in the settings in a particular order. sometimes you only get boring stuff like version info or test modes, but sometimes you get something cool. passwords are usually basic like 0000 or 1234.
anyone else ever found anything cool while dicking about in the settings?? 😀
