Avel vs antek toroidal or else?

Looking to spend good money on a properly made trafo. Im in korea and the ones wound here hum mechanically, which i understand is from deficient windings.

For trafos that wont have this issue Ive found antek but the shipping cost to here is $90. Avel, carried by partsexpress, is only $30 shipping but id like to ask if it'll be as good as antek. Thanks

Trafos humming mechanically is because they are under-dimensioned (or just at the limit) as to core size for the power.
Matter of price. If you know a local xformer winder/company, get them to wind your xformer on one core size larger than necessary, and it will be dead silent.
Much cheaper than import, and you support your local economy 👍

Thanks jan. That would be the ideal for me too since im in very good relations with these winders also.

Dont think size is the problem tho. For 48w x2 gainclone ive used 150va, 300va and even 500va all wound by them and they all hummed.

So i custom wound from them with 240v input, thinking the extra turns would solve the hum. And it did but i think its also because they varnished it of which toxic smell made me not keep these trafos for use. (Facepalm)

So its either gamble with them again or go for the good ol american brand (im an american myself 😆)
