I have a M-dac PE29 6XU that has begun to give a quiet irregular popping noise, a bit like a scratch on a LP. I have had it for years and its now becoming too noticeable so I wondered if anyone knew of a likely cause and remedy.

I have found it is to do with the USB and if I connect via a coaxial input I have no problems. The main problem now is I have to use a usb to spdif convertor. The laptop works perfectly on the usb input to the M-Dac but not the new 10ZIG thin client streaming Daphile.
