I was looking at your website, and noticed the two CD units you're selling, I'm familliar with the PRO2M unit, but not the other. I'm curious about the other, if I understand correctly, its similar in idea to the PRO2M unit in that all that would be needed to make a functioning player would be a power supply, a DAC, and front end controller. In other words, the unit is completely self contained with all of the actual CD reading logic needed inside of it. I just need to add a microcontroller for the user interface and use the DSA protocol to tell it to play, pause, next, stop, etc. Correct?

Thanks for the input!

Nice looking site and products. I am also curious about the cheaper cd unit. I already have a DSA controller that I made a while back for the cdpro2m. Is the interface identical on the cheaper unit? Any additional documentation?

Hi Schaef :

Yep ...your understanding is right, but a little minor error on CD-PRO2M.
For CD-PRO2M, you need a power supply, and front end controller. You don't need a DAC, the module has a build-in DAC.
For the other one, you needa a power supply, a DAC, and front end controller.

They are both controlled via DSA protocol .

I used the i2s output put on the cdpro2m on my old cd player project. Is this interface the same for the other cd player module?
