I thought I had solved the problem of using my valve pre-amp with this Class D amp. It was shutting down when switched on. I was then advised to leave the pre-amp on for a time before switching it on in case it was detecting any D.C. It was fine for a week or so and now it is doing it again.
Can I disable the sleep/mute function by cutting the pin (pin 18)on the chip ? Does anyone know if this will affect any other functions (e.g switch on thump) There is no switch on thump at present.

I have re-boxed the amp which now has a plastic panel in whcih the speaker terminals and phono sockets are located. I tired it briefly last night with the valve pre and it works. I have to do some tidying up, but I may have fixed the problem. It could be that the terminals/sockets on the previous metal case were not completely isolated and this may have caused a problem. Time will tell.
