Title self explanatory..
Anyone have any experience with either of these cartridges?
I am contemplating buying one for one of my Souther arms. Given my ability to make arm wands with the appropriate mass if necessary either could be a good match.
I am currently running a Windfeld on one and a Royal N on the other as a point of reference. Also have run an Ebony H which worked very well, but is a bit laid back for my taste and doesn't have the bass capability of either of the aforementioned cartridges.

I have an ART-9. It is spectacularly good. Had a Benz Micro Ace before which too was very good. The ART-9 is the first AT cart I've had that is tonally neutral (once run in) - others were always too forward sounding for me. I suspect if the ART-9 was made by one of the boutique manufacturers it would cost double , its really good value (compared to its competition at least!)
The ART-7 is super low output so you would need a very good quality / quiet phono stage. It is apparently tailored for jazz.
The 9 is 0.5mV and easily matched.
I highly recommend it 🙂

All good to know, this would be an alternative to the Royal N or Benz Ebony. Others have indicated that this is a nice cartridge as well.
The Ebony is basically the best tracking cartridge I own, and the Windfeld which should be even better isn't.
I think I have too many Ortofon LOMCs (4 currently) which is why I want to try something different. The Benz was/is interesting - much more composed on difficult material than the Ortofons, but ultimately lacked both the dynamics, resolution and authority of the Ortofons, but what a wonderful midrange.
I can handle any cartridge down to about 50uV @ 5cm/sec, the problem is at the other end for me - 0.5mV is the upper limit for LOMC, 5mV for MM and HOMC.

Sounds like you have some very nice carts 🙂
The Art-9 is more detailed than my Benz was, but is not at all bright. However, it was quite forward and thin sounding for about the first 50 hours or so. I nearly sent it back but am very glad I didn't (AT do 28 day trial here in the UK - not sure about US?) Its really nice I think. The Lyra Delos is meant to be very good for about the same money but I think that is 0.6mV.

I also have an ART-9 for almost two years now and really happy with it. It replaced a shelter 901 and is more natural, more dynamic and with higher resolution.
I can actually get the AT ART 9 for around $1K if I shop around a bit whereas the Delos seems to be at least $1800 best I can find. The ART 9 used to cost a lot more, but high end AT MC cartridges are not very popular here in the U.S. so are now heavily discounted. Most of my cartridges list between $2K - 5K new, I have managed in all but one case not to pay anywhere near the list price with careful shopping. I am not risk adverse either which means I will sometimes buy gray market when the price differential is compelling enough. My most expensive one is an Ortofon SPU A95 which I bought through the local authorized dealer.. I think the Windfeld is better.
This all sounds very positive to me.. Will let you know when I decide. I want a good, unromantic, high resolution cartridge.

a friend of me use the ART-7 since 8-9 years.
What lack in sonic quality can occur as a result of aging (i. e. rubber suspension of the needle carrier) ?
Thanks for comments.
