Audio PCM to 5.1 Surround Sound

Hello,

I'm hoping you can help.

I've recently bought a SONOS system soundbar & 2 x play 1's - when watching movies the audio from my TV outputs stereo only, I know this is down to my TV delivering PCM output, however when I connect via optical using my DVD player (5.1 surround compatable) - I still only get stereo.

Can you buy any converters that convert PCM to 5.1??

A Dolby Digital processor shout be able to apply Dolby pro-logic decoding to 2 channel PCM material. It may be cheaper to get a DD AVR used, since Hdmi has made them obsolete. I paid 20 bucks for my Onkyo.
