Not that I mind you building a tubed phono preamp, of course...😉
What I had in mind was a circuit for a DAC as in the link you posted, it seems very well thought out and may be a very good alternative to commercial DACs, quite likely at a substantially reduced cost to the DIY builder.
After all thermionic bits can't be all that bad?
